A Level Options: Lengua Española

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for Lengua Española in the sixth form. Lengua is not an option in Year 12 at Runnymede College so that it can only be taken in Year 13.

Why study this subject?

Although it is not an A Level qualification, students who are thinking of going to a Spanish university will have enough preparation to enable them to have an excellent start to their first year: text comprehension, a wide vocabulary, historical knowledge, Spanish literature, “cultura general”. Sixth form students will have the opportunity of preparing their entrance to Spanish universities, including private ones (Comillas, ICADE, IE, CUNEF…).

What will I study and learn?

Lengua

Comunicación, gramática, relaciones semánticas, puntuación y ortografía (ejercicios prácticos en clase dirigidos a los exámenes de entrada a las universidades privadas).

Literatura

Lectura, comentario y análisis de distintos textos de la literatura española: oral y escrito.

How will I be assessed?

Participation, written exercises, debates, oral activities and attendance will be taken into account. Essays related to the tests which are studied are submitted periodically.
