Studying computer science makes students better thinkers, decision-makers, and communicators - which are all excellent skills that are transferable to the other areas of their learning.
Computer Science is a strong academic subject and students with a keen interest in the subject and good mathematical ability are likely to both enjoy the course and do well.
Students will study how a computer represents data (binary and hexadecimal), the key principles of network organisation, computer architecture and the impact and influence of digital technology on society. Alongside these units, students will analyse and solve problems through practical experience using algorithms, logical reasoning and the programming language of Python.
